Eternal Progression

  1. The belief that people can keep learning, growing, and advancing — eventually becoming like God — through obedience and the grace of Christ.

Central to the Latter-day Saint view of purpose, eternal progression frames mortal life as one stage in an endless path of development. It connects to exaltation and the teaching that God was once as we are and we may become as He is.
