Missionary Life

Raising the Bar

  1. The phrase for the heightened worthiness, health, and preparation standards that prospective missionaries are expected to meet before serving.

It comes from a widely-quoted 2002 address by Elder M. Russell Ballard, who told the youth that the standard for missionary service was being raised and that they needed to prepare accordingly.
