Ten Cow Woman

  1. A woman or girl of great worth.

This phrase is taken from the movie "Johnny Lingo", which was produced by the Church in 1969 and popular among LDS youth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365393/). Although not practiced or condoned in LDS culture, the ten cow woman reference comes from when Johnny Lingo paid eight cows to a family so that he could marry their daughter, even though she was valued at less than one cow. After putting such a high value on the woman, she blossomed into someone worth more than the price he paid. At the very end of the movie, her father claimed that he was cheated and that she was worth at least ten cows.
