Branch

  1. Similar to a ward except that there are fewer members of the congregation despite covering a larger geographical area.

Branches are considered to be the baby form of a ward. If there are not enough people in a specific area only a branch can be formed. Although they are assigned to a specific Stake they are not led by a Bishop as a ward is; rather they are led by a Branch President.
