Fast Offering

  1. A donation, at least equal to the cost of the meals skipped while fasting, given to help the poor and needy.

Collected especially on Fast Sunday, fast offerings are used by the bishop to care for those in need, separate from tithing. Young men often help collect them from members' homes.
