Funeral Potatoes

  1. A type of potato casserole that is served at many Mormon social functions.

A basic recipe for this quick, easy, and delicious side dish can be found below; however many different variations have been known to exist. This phenomenon is primarily contained within the state of Utah but is strong in surrounding regions. 1 can cream of chicken soup 1/4 cup skim milk 1 cup light sour cream 1/2 cup cheese, grated 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 bag frozen hash browns Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients well, pour into 9 x 13 inch pan, and cover with foil. Bake for 40 minutes and then remove the foil for 15 more minutes of cooking.
