Mosiah

  1. A righteous Book of Mormon king and prophet, son of King Benjamin; also the name of the book of Mosiah.

King Mosiah translated the 24-plate Jaredite record, and near the end of his reign replaced the line of kings with the reign of judges. He was the father of the four missionary sons — Ammon, Aaron, Omner, and Himni. The book of Mosiah contains King Benjamin's tower sermon and the accounts of Abinadi and Alma. (An earlier King Mosiah, his grandfather, had first led the Nephites to Zarahemla.)
