Beliefs & Doctrine

Adam and Eve

  1. The first man and woman, whose choice in the Garden of Eden brought about the Fall and the beginning of mortal life.

Latter-day Saints honor Adam and Eve as noble figures who made the Fall possible so that humankind could come to earth, gain bodies, and progress. Adam is also identified as the archangel Michael, and Eve is celebrated for her wise choice rather than blamed for it.
