Plan of Salvation

The plan of salvation is the Latter-day Saint framework for the purpose of life — where we came from, why we are here, and what happens after death. It teaches that everyone lived with God as spirits before birth (premortal life), comes to earth to gain a body and be tested (mortal life), and, through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, can be resurrected and inherit a place in one of the degrees of glory in the life to come. This arc forms the basis of much of what the Church teaches.
