Baptismal Clothing

  1. The plain white clothing worn by the person being baptized and the person performing the baptism, symbolizing purity and a clean start before God.

Usually a simple white jumpsuit provided by the ward or temple. White is worn for baptisms and throughout the temple as a symbol of purity and equality before God. Guests attending a baptism do not wear white — ordinary nice clothing is expected.
