King Lamoni

  1. A Lamanite king converted through the missionary Ammon.

Ammon, one of the sons of Mosiah, became Lamoni's servant and defended the king's flocks at the waters of Sebus, cutting off the arms of the raiders who scattered them. Astonished, Lamoni and his household were converted after Ammon taught him the gospel (Alma 17–19) — one of the best-known missionary accounts in the Book of Mormon.
