Consecrated Oil

  1. Pure olive oil that has been blessed and set apart for use in priesthood blessings of healing.

Only olive oil is used. It is consecrated by a Melchizedek Priesthood holder, then a small amount is placed on the head of a sick person in the two-part healing blessing (anointing, then sealing the anointing). Many members carry a small vial on a keychain.
