Emma Smith

  1. Joseph Smith's wife, an early scribe for the Book of Mormon translation and compiler of the Church's first hymnbook.

Emma Hale Smith was called "an elect lady" in revelation and was the first president of the Relief Society. She remained in Nauvoo rather than going west with Brigham Young's company, but is honored as a foundational figure.
