Jacob

  1. A Book of Mormon prophet, the younger brother of Nephi, who wrote the book of Jacob.

Born to Lehi and Sariah in the wilderness, Jacob was consecrated a priest and teacher by his brother Nephi and testified that he had seen the Redeemer. He confronted the anti-Christ Sherem, preached powerfully against pride and unauthorized plural marriage, and recorded Zenos's allegory of the olive tree (Jacob 5).
