Mission Area
- The specific local territory — a town, or part of a city — that a missionary companionship is assigned to work in.
A mission is divided into many areas, and each companionship is responsible for one at a time. Missionaries live within their area, come to know its members and the people they teach, and keep a record of that work in the area book. On a transfer a missionary may be moved to a brand-new area, sometimes with a day's notice, so "my area" changes several times over a mission. Areas are grouped into districts and zones for leadership and support.
