Mission
- A period of time that an individual completely devotes his- or herself to service and teaching others about the Church and its teachings.
A large majority of missionaries can be sorted in three main categories. The first and largest is the young single adult males (being the only group required to serve missions) who serve for two years of consecutive time. The second group is the young single adult females who serve for one-and-a-half years of time. The last main group is the elderly married couples who serve for varied amounts of time, depending upon their desires and abilities. Missionaries serve around the world and almost every country, often requiring them to learn new languages and customs. Individuals who serve missions often rank their missionary experiences very positively, putting them at equal levels with getting married and the birth of their children.
