Open House

  1. A period of free public tours the Church holds inside a newly built or newly renovated temple, before it is dedicated — the one time people without a temple recommend, including non-members, may go inside.

Open houses typically run for several weeks, are announced publicly, and often draw large crowds and local media. Visitors walk through the finished rooms with guides. Once the temple is dedicated, entry is limited to members with a current recommend, so the open house is the general public's only chance to see a temple's interior.
