Peter, James, and John

  1. Three of Christ's original apostles who restored the Melchizedek Priesthood to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery.

Sometime in 1829, the resurrected Peter and James and the translated John appeared near the Susquehanna River and conferred the Melchizedek Priesthood and the keys of the kingdom (Doctrine and Covenants 27:12). They had held the same keys as the presidency of the ancient Church.
