Record
- A file that is kept on every member of the Church for record purposes.
These files hold such information as name, contact information, birthdates, and other pertinent data. Often they are referenced as the Records of the Church, which is simply a nickname for the records as a whole. When one moves and needs to go to a new meetinghouse they even have to transfer the records over to the new ward. If a member is excommunicated their record is deleted. Children who are born into LDS families are also tracked via a record even though they are not technically members of the Church. To be a member one must be baptized and children cannot be baptized until they are eight years old.
