Urim and Thummim

  1. A sacred instrument of two seer stones prepared by God to help translate ancient records and receive revelation.

Joseph Smith used the Urim and Thummim (also called "the interpreters") to help translate the Book of Mormon from the golden plates. The term also appears in the Bible.
