Temple & Ordinances

Veil

  1. The curtain in the temple representing the divide between mortality and God's presence, through which patrons symbolically pass into the Celestial Room.

The word also refers more broadly to the "veil" separating this life from the premortal and postmortal spirit world — the reason we don't remember our premortal life. In the temple, passing through the veil represents entering God's presence.
