Worthiness

  1. The state of living the Church's standards well enough to receive ordinances, hold a temple recommend, serve a mission, or exercise the priesthood.

Worthiness is assessed in interviews with leaders covering things like faith, honesty, the law of chastity, and the Word of Wisdom. The Church teaches that worthiness is about repentance and honest progress, not perfection.
