Temple & Ordinances

Confirmation

  1. The ordinance, performed just after baptism, in which a person is confirmed a member of the Church and given the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands.

One or more Melchizedek Priesthood holders lay their hands on the person's head, confirm them a member, and pronounce the words "receive the Holy Ghost." Baptism and confirmation together complete the process of becoming a member.
