Beliefs & Doctrine

Repentance

  1. The process of turning away from sin and toward God — recognizing wrongdoing, feeling godly sorrow, forsaking the sin, and seeking forgiveness through Christ.

Repentance is enabled by the Atonement and is treated as an ongoing way of life rather than a one-time event. Serious sins may be confessed to a bishop as part of the process.
