Agency

  1. The God-given ability to choose for oneself between right and wrong.

Agency is considered essential to God's plan: growth and accountability depend on people being free to choose, and preserving agency was central to the premortal "War in Heaven." Older usage says "free agency"; the Church now prefers "moral agency."
