War in Heaven
- The premortal conflict in which Lucifer rebelled against God's plan and was cast out, taking a third of the hosts of heaven with him.
Latter-day Saint teaching holds that the war was fought over agency: Lucifer sought to force everyone to be saved and take God's glory. Lucifer became Satan, and those who followed him never received physical bodies. Everyone now on earth is understood to have chosen God's plan.
